THE apparent crime wave in Pennington continues unabated. Four armed men stormed into a Cod Crescent home last Saturday, holding up seven holidaymakers.
A 26-year-old man was ambushed by two men, one armed with a gun, on his way to the car at 5am. Two more men emerged from the bushes and the four men forced the holidaymaker back into the house.
The victim and the six women who were staying in the house with him were tied up and shoved into a room.
The armed men then ransacked the house, making off with money, jewellery, cellphones and clothing. They then used the victim’s vehicle to make their escape.
The car was found, completely burnt out two days later, inland from Hibberdene.
The investigating officer is Detective Constable Cliffy Pillay of the Scottburgh Cluster Detective Task Team. Anyone with information can contact him at 039 9781900 or 039 978 9917.
