Beware: Con men are on the prowl

Don't be tricked out of your hard earned money.

POLICE are warning people of con men (sometimes foreigners) who tell their victims that if they deposit or hand over a certain sum of money, their money will be doubled.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said that there had been numerous incidents where fraud and/or theft cases have been opened, because of these con men taking advantage of gullible people.

“Don’t trust  strangers or hand over money to people you don’t know,” she said.

She added that people must also not deposit money into the bank accounts of strangers, as they will be tricked into losing their hard-earned cash.
