Rapist policeman ‘too sick’ for sentencing
A sick note was submitted to the court.
A SENIOR policeman, due to be sentenced for rape, failed to appear in the Port Shepstone Regional Court this week for the hearing.
Major Mhlukaniselwa Madlala (50), of the Port Shepstone detective branch, was found guilty of raping a 32-year-old woman on November 9, 2007.
At the time, he had been giving her a lift home, but instead of doing that, he took her to another house where he raped her.
After appearing in court on several occasions, he was found guilty of the crime.
However, he did not appear in court this week and the case was postponed to January 6 next year.
