Munchner Haus offers authentic German cuisine

The restaurant not only offers delicious German dishes but also fresh seafood and mouth-watering pizzas.

THE Munchner Haus German and Continental Restaurant in St Mike’s is so popular with diners that to be sure of securing a table, it is always best to book in advance.

Owned by Harald and Louise Gartner, the restaurant offers silver service with down to earth prices.

The menu features German/Austrian traditional dishes along with seafood, steaks, and a variety of game dishes for diners who like to enjoy something on the wild side. Priding itself on its continental fare, Italy comes up tops with a choice of pizzas, freshly baked in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven.

There’s also a splendid choice of desserts, including Kaiserchmarr, that fluffy, shredded delicious pancake ‘pud’, which is definitely the first choice of many diners.

All meals are freshly prepared with Harald at the helm, while Louise takes on the mantle of the perfect hostess.

There is an extensive wine list and, as is to be expected, the restaurant is well known for its selection of beer including the German favourite, Erdinger.

During season the restaurant is open daily for both lunch and dinner. Out of season the restaurant operates Tuesday to Saturday for dinner from 5pm till 9pm and serves lunch on Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 12pm till 2pm.
