Wife mows husband down

It is claimed that there were two children in the bakkie at the time of the incident.

FOLLOWING what is thought to have been a domestic argument on Christmas Day, a Uvongo woman ran her husband down with the family bakkie.

According to police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, when police arrived at the couple’s Henry Avenue home, at around 5pm, they found the husband lying on the ground.

“He had sustained head injuries. It is also claimed that there were two children in the bakkie at the time of the incident,” said Captain Mfeka. The children were not injured.

The man was taken to hospital and has since been released. The woman was arrested and appeared in the Ramsgate court on Monday this week. The case was postponed.  Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
