HIBBERDENE Academy welcomed John Alexander to the school recently. As a member of the Independent Schools’ Association, a compulsory internal evaluation of the school is conducted every five years. The process involves an evaluation of teaching methods, curriculum controls, staffing and all things to do with school evaluation around the theme: ‘Are we the best we can be?’
The process is controlled by an Independent Quality Assurance Agency (IQAA) with much experience in these evaluations. Parents and pupils are also canvassed for opinions of the school and together with comprehensive feedback from IQAA, this can only benefit Hibberdene Academy.

Congratulations to head leader Bonga Khumalo, deputy Wendy Ngcobo and leaders Portia Mbokazi, Athenkosi Mchiza, Fazel Mqadi, Sbongiseni Mtetwa, Mholi Mtshali, Felicity Ngema and Lindiwe Sibiya.
The school is extremely grateful to Glen Smit and members of the Shelly Beach Rotary Club for donating bags full of toys for the junior classes, which will be used extensively during constructive ‘playtimes’. Lara Baldrey and Karen de Lange both swam and completed the Midmar Mile and the school congratulates them for setting a fine example to the school.
