THREE men have been arrested for the alleged execution-style murder of a woman (55) at her home in Msikaba Ward, Betania.
They were apparently hired to kill the woman over a money dispute.
Investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Vukile Radebe, from Port Shepstone detectives, visited the murder scene on Saturday, March 7, and found the woman covered with a sheet.
“It would appear that the murder took place during the night,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
Det W/O Radebe began investigations and last week arrested Zwelishle Zeblon Argus Mchunu,(51), Dumisani Cyril Ngcobo, (35) and Sandile Cedrick Ngwane (38) in Oshabeni, Oslo Beach and Mkholombe respectively.
Lt-Col Wiid said that further investigations revealed that a 9mm Luger was used in the murder. They also found 24 rounds which were stolen during a housebreaking in Mehlomnyama last month.
They were charged with the murder and appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week.
Mchunu was charged for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. All three accused remain in custody.
