THREE ‘most wanted’ criminals who are believed to be behind at least one murder and two thefts of motor vehicles have finally been arrested.
They were tracked down on Monday this week when officers from the Port Shepstone K9 unit, Port Shepstone Crime Prevention unit, 10111 call centre and Port Shepstone Crime Intelligence responded on information received and went out to Louisiana.
“Three men, aged 26, 29 and 40 respectively, were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
Various items such as tools, thought to have be used in house break-ins and the theft of vehicles, a flat screen television and a hi-fi system were found. The men were detained at the Port Shepstone police station and will appear in court soon.
“They are also wanted in connection with other cases , including a murder that took place in Mehlomnyama, near St Faiths during 2012, the theft of a motor vehicle case during 2013 in Umtentweni and a theft of motor vehicle case in Scottburgh in 2012,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
Cluster Commander of Port Shepstone, Major General Thembi Ndlovu, praised the officers and congratulated them on this breakthrough. Investigations are continuing.
