Two women raped over Easter weekend

The man called his cellphone from the victim’s phone.

A MAN unwittingly led police to his doorstep by allegedly calling his cellphone , using his victim’s phone,  after raping her in the bushes in Kwanyuswa last Sunday.

This was revealed in the victim’s statement when she reported the attack to police in Izingolweni.

The woman was on her way to meet a friend when she was confronted by the man, whom she did not know.

“She was dragged into the nearby bushes and raped,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.

After raping the woman the man took her cellphone and miss-called his cellphone. After making that call he told the woman he would call her soon and left.

The man is due to appear in the Izingolweni Magistrate’s  Court soon.

In another incident, a woman (25) was raped in Godloza ward, Izingolweni. According to police reports the woman was taken by force into a house and raped. No arrests have yet been made.
