A POLICE officer stationed at Margate has died after being shot several times while off-duty in Oslo Beach last night.
He was rushed to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, before being transferred to a hospital in Durban where he later died.
“Two suspects were arrested in Margate last night,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
She added that a murder docket is being investigated by Port Shepstone police.
The officer is the second policeman from the Margate station to lose his life this week.
Constable Xolani Phepu (39) died in a traffic accident near the Southcoast Mall last Wednesday.
