A MARGATE policewoman was shot, allegedly by her boyfriend, during an argument at Gcilima near Southbroom last night at about 8pm.
“Reservist Constable Ntombi Jula (37) was at her house with her boyfriend and his friend who is a policeman,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“An argument broke out between the three and R/Cst Jula’s boyfriend, who was in possession of his friend’s firearm, allegedly shot R/Cst Jula in her upper body,” said Captain Mfeka.
She was rushed to Gcilima Clinic and was later transferred to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital. She is reported to be in a stable condition.
Police have not released the identity of either the boyfriend or the policeman, who is believed to be stationed at Cedarville near Underberg.
No arrests have yet been made and Margate police are investigating.
