SCOTTBURGH CBD has had seven business burglaries in the past two months.
Criminals are targeting stores because they are guaranteed to find something of value inside, whether it be cash or goods.
Most of the break-ins have occurred in the early morning hours. Scottburgh SAPS’s Communications Officer, Captain Vincent Pandaram comments: “This is of concern to us as it is uncommon to experience that number of cases in this area.”
The Scottburgh SAPS has initiated strategies to combat these crimes and apprehend the suspects involved. Police deployment in the CBD has been increased accordingly and members have been performing foot patrols.
