A MAN survived despite being stabbed 12 times in a ‘determined and frenzied attack’ at a tavern in Mvutshini near Munster last Sunday.
“Mzoxolo Mvundla (21) arrived at the tavern at about 5pm, and stayed for a few minutes before leaving for home,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“When he entered the walkway at his home, he was attacked, but was not seriously injured. He managed to escape and went back to the tavern,” said Capt Mfeka.
At about 8pm, Mr Mvundla thought it safe to return home. However, as he entered the walkway he was trapped and held up again at knife point.
He was then stabbed 12 times, in the head and upper body. The attacker fled, taking nothing.
Mr Mvundla was taken to hospital by a community member.
