Old boys’ reunion robbed
A group of friends on holiday had a frightening experience in Oslo Beach recently.
A WEEKEND reunion of 19 old mates turned into a nightmare when their Oslo Beach holiday cottage was virtually cleaned out while they slept.
The group came down from Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Durban recently to catch up on old times. While they were sleeping, burglars broke in and helped themselves.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said various household appliances, personal items, cellphones, wallets and laptops were taken.
One of the men said he suspected that these burglars were targeting holiday accommodation in Marine Drive as he had heard the house had been burgled the week before.
“Luckily none of us woke up during the robbery. It could have turned nasty,” said the man.
He and his family always holidayed on the South Coast, he said, but had never experienced anything like this before. He warned others to be careful.
“Never forget that criminals are everywhere.”
