Stolen taxi found in Hibberdene
The vehicle was impounded by police, pending further investigation.
A MINIBUS taxi which had been stolen from Isipingo was recovered in Hibberdene last Thursday.
Warrant Officer Hendrik Ludick, Sergeant Rudi Smit, Constable Sibonelo Cele and Cst Zonwabele Mpofana, from the Port Shepstone 10111 call centre, acted on a tracking device that was activated on a stolen vehicle.
“The officers traced the vehicle to a rural area near Hibberdene,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “Upon checking the vehicle, it was established that the minibus had been reported stolen from the Isipingo area the same morning.
“Two men were taken in for questioning and will face charges of possession of stolen property. The vehicle was impounded by police, pending further investigation.”
