AN awaiting trial prisoner who escaped from the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court last year is still at large.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said Sivuyile Sipho Mqadi was arrested for a robbery which occurred in Mitchell Drive, Port Shepstone in July 2014.
“He appeared in court on August 28 when he and two other prisoners managed to escape. His fellow escapees were later rearrested,” she said.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for Mqadi and the public is urged to contact Port Shepstone police at at 039 6881005 or 039 6881004 if they have any information on his whereabouts.
