Shot Margate policewoman dies
Her boyfriend was arrested for attempted murder but is now out on bail.
POLICE Reservist Constable Ntombi Jula (37) who was allegedly shot by her boyfriend in May this year died in hospital last Sunday.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka confirmed that the Margate policewoman had died in the Nkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban.
Her boyfriend was arrested for attempted murder but is now out on bail.
R/Cnst Jula’s funeral will be held at her home in Gcilima this Saturday.
Monya Palmer, the Ramsgate Community Policing Forum liaison officer, said the forum was saddened by R/Cnst Jula’s death.
“Before she joined the RCPF, she worked at the Community Policing Forum in Gcilima for four years and had been with the Ramsgate CPF since it was established in 2002,” she said.
“We are grateful for her years of loyal service to our community. She made a difference and she treated people with dignity and respect. We lost a colleague and a friend,” she said.
R/Cnst Jula leaves her parents and three children.
