Margate man found dead

AN elderly man was found dead in his Margate Ext 3 garage yesterday morning.

Police found the body of a 70-year-old man on a chair in the garage. He had a gunshot wound to the left side of his head.

Margate police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka said the man’s wife had taken the dogs to the beach and when she returned home, she found her husband on the chair, surrounded by a pool of blood.

“A firearm was found next to the body,” said Captain Mfeka. Paramedics were called and declared the man dead.

No foul play is suspected and an inquest docket was opened.
