Rangers head to London
The rangers need the community's support to reach their dream.
PORT Shepstone’s girl guiding movement is on a mission, again! Six of the rangers plan to visit Pax Lodge in Hampstead, North London, one of the five world centres owned by World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in June/July 2017.
The bright, modern centre is next to the World Bureau, the international headquarters of WAGGGS. It’s a ‘place where strangers are soon friends’ and is a very convenient base from which to explore the city.
The girls say it will be an experience to go overseas and visit one of the four World Centres owned by the WAGGGS.
However the girls have a lot of work ahead of them and need the community’s support and help to achieve their goal. They each have to raise R20 000, a total of R120 000, in order to go.
The girls, from Port Shepstone Secondary, Port Shepstone High and Marburg Secondary have several fund-raisers in the pipeline. So watch this space.
Anyone who can assist the girls is asked to contact Jolene Evans at 072 1485524. A small portion of money raised will also go to charity.
