Your body says it all

The March Tuesday Rostrum will tell you how to use body language to impress.

FOR the first time in its 29-year history, due to circumstances beyond the committee’s control, Tuesday Rostrum found itself with an empty podium at its February luncheon meeting.

Greg Woolley, who was booked to talk about cannabis oil, failed to arrive, disappointing members of the ‘thinking women’s club’ and the many guests who were looking forward to hearing about this somewhat controversial but very topical subject.

However, Tuesday Rostrum is not only known for its stimulating talks. It also offers guests excellent lunches and an attractive venue, courtesy Mbango, and has a well-deserved reputation for being a friendly club.

For this reason, the luncheon was still an enjoyable outing for everyone there and the members, known for their chattiness, took advantage of the prolonged talking time. Stimulating conversation flowed at all the tables, keeping guests entertained while the flustered committee members tried their very best to track down the missing speaker.

The committee hopes the many newcomers who came along to hear the cannabis oil talk will return to hear some of the other interesting speakers booked for this year.

The highly recommended March guest speaker, Gwenythe Seymour, could well tempt many of the disappointed first timers to come along next month. She will speak at at Mbango on Tuesday, March 8 at 12.15pm.

With her outgoing personality and her informative, relaxed and amusing presentations on aspects of body language, Gwenythe has proved a particularly popular speaker on the corporate and lunch club circuit. She has a refreshing approach and promises to keep her Tuesday Rostrum audience amused and entertained.

Gwenythe describes herself as a mature woman who has been widowed for 14 years. She started her working life as a bright-eyed South African model who went on to expand her career overseas. After a spell in London she headed for the United States of America where she had the privilege of showing garments by Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent and Oleg Cassini, the preferred designer of America’s then ‘first lady’, Jackie Kennedy.

After returning to South Africa and while bringing up her children, she carried on modelling, but expanded her interests to include the wonders of colour coding and to become an image consultant. From there she gradually found herself being invited to give talks on image dressing.

Now, as a popular guest speaker she gives entertaining talks on the various aspects of body language, telling her listeners how to present themselves in the best possible way.

She discusses a range of related subjects like dressing for your personality, choosing your colours and understanding personal space. Useful information includes tips on how to see if someone is not being truthful, what to do when you enter a room filled with strangers and how to have fun, watching flirting in action.

Don’t miss this entertaining talk. To book contact Denise Millar at 039-317-2600.
