Ski boat club dishes up action-packed adventure in Pennington
Sea conditions tested anglers, but they adapted and brought fish to the scales.
Pennington Ski Boat Club had an action-packed weekend with its Chairman’s Challenge.
From the draw and boat auction, to first-light launches, rugby, the club’s AGM, a cracking final day on the water, and finishing it all off with Blarney & Son getting everyone on their feet with some fantastic entertainment… the 2026 Chairman’s Challenge had it all!

The sea conditions certainly tested anglers, but the fishermen were built differently. They adapted, stuck it out, and still brought fish to the scales.
Results are as follows:
1 Take a Break: 59.88 pts (25.62kg couta and bonnie) – skipper Evan Antal.
2 Spindrift: 51.24 pts (12.96kg couta and three bonnies) – skipper Scott Nicholson.
3 Cigana Do Mar: 4.22 pts (one bonnie) – skipper Brendon Jewaskiewitz.

Winners for the juniors was Max Nicholson, and the lady’s winner was Sophie Jewaskiewitz.
The club thanks all anglers, sponsors, volunteers, beach crew, committee members, bar and kitchen staff, and everyone else for the support and ensuring this was a memorable and successful competition.
