A MAN drowned in front of his horrified friend at the Port Shepstone tidal pool last Sunday at about 6.30pm.
The 26-year-old man apparently couldn’t stay afloat and disappeared under the water.
“Police were alerted and Warrant Officer Francois Pretorius, W/O Gawie Nel and W/O Rommel da Rosa from the K9 unit, police divers and paramedics searched the pool,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
The body was later recovered.
An inquest docket was opened at Port Shepstone police station.
