Renovations amounting to over a million rand at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality have been completed.

According to municipal manager, Max Mbili, the project was forced by the need to improve security in the main office by controlling access to the municipality.

Following a rigorous supply chain tender process, RA Davison contractors were awarded the tender and completed the project in just four months.

Mr Mbili said the municipality will also have a dedicated facility for the security personnel, where they can monitor the movement around the council chamber precinct.

The guardhouse also has a CCTV camera control room and a boom gate,as well as fencing and an electronic gate.

Municipal leaders commended the contractors for having completed the project in time and for their great work.
