According to municipal manager, Max Mbili, the project was forced by the need to improve security in the main office by controlling access to the municipality.

Following a rigorous supply chain tender process, RA Davison contractors were awarded the tender and completed the project in just four months.
Mr Mbili said the municipality will also have a dedicated facility for the security personnel, where they can monitor the movement around the council chamber precinct.

The guardhouse also has a CCTV camera control room and a boom gate,as well as fencing and an electronic gate.
Municipal leaders commended the contractors for having completed the project in time and for their great work.
