According to police reports the man had opened the door to the house as he was preparing to leave when he was suddenly approached by two men, who were both armed.
“They demanded cash and when the man refused and tried to defend himself, the intruders stabbed him in the arm and the leg with a knife,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

She added that during the attack a third suspect joined the fray.
“The woman was also threatened and one of the men grabbed her handbag containing a wallet, bank cards, and cellphones. The men also took jewellery and a laptop before fleeing.
“Information was received that the attackers were picked up by a white VW Golf and minutes later Constables Selby Cele and Sibusiso Cele from the Port Shepstone 10111 Call Center saw this vehicle driving past them in Marine Drive, Oslo Beach,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
The two officers gave chase and managed to stop the car.
Constables Orlando Nyawose and ‘KC’ Ndlozini from the Port Shepstone K9 Unit assisted with the arrest.
Four men were arrested and were found in possession of the stolen property. Police also found gloves, a balaclava and two knives in the vehicle.
The driver was found to be a foreign national.
The four suspects, aged 21, 24, 37 and 43 respectively will be profiled to establish if they are wanted in connection with any other crimes and will appear in court soon.
