Water safety is important at Jai Hind

Pupils are encouraged to bring their swimming gear to school every day for training purposes.

Representatives from the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) visited Jai Hind Primary last week to create water safety awareness . Through an interactive session, pupils were made aware of the dangers of swimming alone.

They were also educated about safety protocols in an emergency situation when swimming in dams, rivers and the open sea.

Pupils were given sage advice, such as what to do when confronted with a reptile when in water. The session was extremely informative and certainly left pupils so much more water-wise!

Training for the school’s annual interhouse gala commenced this week. Pupils are encouraged to bring their swimming gear to school every day for training purposes.

All swimming items must be clearly marked with the pupil’s name. The gala takes place on March 9.
