Margate Moves: Revved and ready for Bike Fest

The festival looks set to attract thousands of bikers who will descend on the town from today, Friday (27th) for four days of fabulous festivities.

DEFINITELY leading the pack when it comes to the best calendar event in Margate is South Coast Bike Fest which gets into top gear this long weekend.

The festival looks set to attract thousands of bikers who will descend on the town from today, Friday (27th) for four days of fabulous festivities. But the fest is not only about bikes, there is fantastic entertainment featuring 35 of South Africa’s best-known bands on offer as well.

Headline stage artists include Matthew Mole, the Kiffness, Goodluck, Kyle Deutsche and Springbok Nude Girls among many others. There will be three festival stages, eight themed bars, a corporate dealership deck, 22 on site restaurants, pubs and clubs.

For the non-biking public to attend the incredible fest tickets cost R60 per person per day. It’s free for children under 12 years but they must be accompanied by an adult. For R150 ticket holders have guaranteed access to the festival arena including the golden circle at the main stage.

There is free access for all attending bikers and pillions but they must pre-register at www.southcoastbikefest.co.za. Take note free access is also limited to space availability.

Be moonstruck

Ramsgate Conservancy’s Moondeckers invite everyone to join them at the Whale Deck Enviro Centre to watch the rising of the new moon. The moon meet-up takes place this Monday (April 30th) from 5.30pm.

Take along your own food and drinks and enjoy the spectacle as the full moon pops up over the ocean.

To celebrate the wedding of his Royal Highness Prince Harry Windsor to Miss Meghan Markle Southbroom Golf Club is hosting a champagne and canape luncheon with the live airing of the Royal Wedding.

Strings and things

Beethoven’s beautiful compositions will be heard at Riverbend Art and Wine Gallery in Southbroom next month. The Siberian Trio comprising Boris Kerimov, Liezl-Maret Jacobs and Elena Kerimova will perform at the Classics at Riverbend concert which takes place on Friday, May 18 at 6.30pm. There will be a free wine tasting from 5.45pm. Tickets cost R100 and are on sale at the Riverbend shop from this Monday (30th).

Newly-wed

Congratulations go to Laveen Naidoo and Ryan Giblin who were married last Saturday. They are wished much happiness in their new home – the couple has relocated to Port Alfred.

And lots of happy ever after wishes go to Brandon van Rooyen and Daniella Pellegrini who also tied the knot last Saturday.
