Seven armed men, wearing balaclavas, gained entrance into a popular restaurant at Banana Beach last night and robbed patrons of their belongings.
Basil Lanka of Lazer 911 Security said the owners of Pitstop restaurant phoned in about the armed robbery at 1.30am.
Reaction officers André van der Westhuizen, Tiaans Vermeulen and Robbie Pypers were dispatched.
They were told that the seven men had walked in, and then locked everybody up in the office, robbing them of their belongings.
An undisclosed amount of cash had also been taken.
The men then fled in one of the patron’s cars, which was later found in Melville.

The vehicle was found idling at the dead end on Beach road.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid confirmed the robbery.
She said that one of the patron had been kicked by the robbers.
Police are investigating. No arrests have been made as of yet.
