Port Edward beauty Zekhethelo takes the title

Port Edward beauty Zekhethelo Mkhize (22) was crowned queen in this years ‘Face of Port Shepstone’ beauty pageant held at Gamalakhe TVET college last Saturday.

With 48 hopefuls contesting the crown, the panel of six judges had a difficult time choosing the winners. Eventually, Ms Mkhize, alongside Gamalakhe’s Asavela Ndlovu, who was crowned first princess and Oshabeni’s Wendy Shusha, were announced as the winners.

The show kicked off with performances from local artists, which included traditional dance, poetry, hip hop and deejays, as well as a fashion show by Ntwenhle and Amigu fashion designers.

Host, Sphesihle Nono, popularly known as ‘Jojo’ from SABC 1’s Uzalo and Gagasi FM’s Nosipho Mbhele wowed the crowd as they made sure the event was outstanding.

Other categories in the pageant included the Prince, Plus Size and Junior Queen.

Organiser, Phumlani Mzobe of the PhumlaniM Foundation, said the support models had received from their parents and family members was astonishing.
