Tweni Talk: Water crisis results in cancelled bookings
Councillor Leon Garbade has been ‘on the ground’ making sure the public has access to water.
WHAT a week! As everyone knows, the coast has been under so much pressure with the current water crisis. WhatsApp messages have been flying backwards and forwards regarding latest status updates and Councillor Leon Garbade has been seen ‘on the ground’ checking on the situation at static tanks to make sure the public has access to water.

Bad news
Annie Immelman needed to do repairs after her property was broken into and locks were damaged. Ria Hackland of Royston Hall reported that guests who had booked in phoned to check on the water situation and then cancelled because of the lack of water. She was surely not the only one?
Good attendance
We have, however, had some good news come out of Umtentweni. There was an awesome turnout at the Tweni CPF meeting at the library – 44 people braved the cold weather to attend. Do not think that break-ins only occur at night – remember, criminals will try their luck whenever opportunities arise.
Happy ending
Newcomers to Umtentweni, Tobie Greef and daughter Anet Ferreira and family, lost their young African grey parrot, ‘Patat’, last week.

They spread the word far and wide and Patat was found on the Port Shepstone Golf Course last Sunday. It was a joyous reunion with Patat making cute noises and whispering into Anet’s ear.
Great events
The Muddy Boots Market was a huge success once again with many new traders making their debut. Lots of fun was had by everyone and thank goodness the wind held off almost until closing time. Congratulations to Dr Cilel Smith for winning the lucky draw. Last Saturday’s Lions’ jumble sale at JTV was well-supported, according to June Rundle and helpers.
Everyone is invited
