Dogs-R-Us delights at annual Lions’ Show

Eager ‘four-footed’ competitors showed just how much fun agility is for both handler and dog.

Gaby Frey’s dog school ‘Dogs-R-Us’ entertained at the Lion’s Show last weekend. Eager ‘four-footed’ competitors showed just how much fun agility is for both handler and dog.

The sport strengthens bonds, boosts both handlers’ and dogs’ confidence and keeps both fit. They demonstrated how to start introducing puppies to the sport, taking into consideration that dogs only jump heights when their growth plates are closed – around 18 months.

Lots of treats were used for rewards and some dogs preferred a treat, while others would rather have a toy as a reward. Gaby demonstrated some tricks and obedience exercises with border collie ‘Kiskis’ who had her eyes firmly on the agility equipment – her first love. The advanced dogs then negotiated a course at great speeds to show how much they love agility events.
