Crime has again reared its ugly head in the sleepy village of Bazley, leaving an elderly couple traumatised.
“The man was in the garage when he was first approached by two men, one of whom threatened him with a knife. The intruder demanded that he keep quiet, while the second intruder asked for weapons and cash, which the victim did not have,” said Port Shepstone communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.
The husband was kept in the garage and guarded by one robber while the other entered the house.

The husband was only at a later stage brought into the house and seated next to his wife on the floor.
The second robber ransacked the house and demanded that the victims give him their bank account PIN numbers, which the woman did.
The man and his wife were tied up with a cellphone cord and left them in the garage before the men fled in the couple’s car. “The vehicle was later recovered,” said Capt Mpinge.
The couple managed to undo their restraints and seek help.

It was then discovered that several personal belongings had been taken from the house.
