Pianist Christopher Duigan tickles the ivories at Riverbend

The talented musician has been recognised as a 'South African piano icon.'

South Coasters were privileged to attend a performance by renowned pianist  Christopher Duigan at Riverbend Conference Centre recently.

Christopher has performed extensively with all leading South African orchestras. In recital he has developed a popular following through his innovative presentation and programming of a broad and eclectic taste in music.

Christopher completed his studies with Brazilian virtuoso Arnaldo Cohen at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester, where he was awarded the Professional Performer’s Diploma (PPRNCM) and was placed first in the prestigious RNCM Recital Prize for Pianists.

He has performed with  the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra and at the National Arts Festival, Grahamstown.

The recent concert was preceded by a free wine tasting. As always, it turned out to be a sparkling evening. By blending wonderful music, meticulous attention to detail and a fabulous atmosphere, the organisers again came up with a winning recipe.
