Lions Jeff Smith and Desirée du Toit, who planned the route, had contestants travelling from the Ramsgate Lions’ clubhouse to Margate through to Umtentweni, having to look for clues along the way. From Umtenweni, the clues took them over the freeway down to Batstone’s Drift, through Port Shepstone CBD, to Shelly Beach and along the freeway back to Ramsgate.

All teams had to abide by the rules set at the beginning of the race. Failure to do resulted in time penalties, which negatively affected their finishing position in the race. Congratulations to the winning team, Mereli Malan and Gill and Dean Collocott for a well-deserved first place.
