Beauty and elegance at Lindsay’s School of Ballet recital

The studio's aim is to nurture a passion for the art of ballet and performance in the hearts of all its students.

Lindsay’s School of Ballet, which was established on the South Coast in 2009, held its year-end recitals at the Izotsha Lutheran Church hall recently.

There were two recitals, junior and senior, and the hall was packed out, with standing room only.

Lindsay’s studio consists of around 130 dancers ranging in age from four years old, to adults of all ages.

Kezia Herholdt and Karli Allison.

She and her teaching assistant, Kathlene Evans, strive to bring their dancers the best training possible and, judging by the response at the recitals, this seems to have been the case.

“Our aim is to nurture a passion for the art of ballet and performance in the hearts of all our students,” said Lindsay.

All the dancers who entered into the 2018 Artisticulta National Arts Festival earlier in the year were awarded gold (80 percent and above) for their performances.

They will be competing in the next round at the Rising to Fame competition, taking place at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort in March next year.

“Our production in 2019 will be The Nutcracker and we hope to deliver a performance that will top that of 2017, which was the The Jungle Book,” said Lindsay.
