A snare hunt, spearheaded by the Lower South Coast SPCA, is taking place this Saturday, March 2 at 8am.

This comes after another dog was found caught in a snare by the inspectorate team last week.

Supervisor Stacey Beck explained that the inspectorate team were out in the bush searching for the dog caught in a snare late last Wednesday evening.

“Unfortunately it got dark and they only had their cellphone torches and had to call off the search until the morning. They resumed the search the following day at 6am, and found the dog caught in a snare shortly afterwards. The animal is fine, but the leg which was trapped was swollen and bleeding, but was attended to by our veterinarian,” said Stacey.

This is the third dog to be found trapped and injured in the Marburg area.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Marburg KFC at 7.50am sharp.

Bring gloves, hat, water and a good pair of walking shoes.
