Earlier this year, Nosipho was lauded by Marius Botha and many others on social media for going above and beyond her call of duty. This came about after members of the public who had queued at the Park Rynie Home Affairs in the scorching heat for hours on end were told they would have to return the following day.

But, longtime civil servant Nosipho insisted on assisting the remaining 40 people, completely on her own and with a smile no less. The social media post by Marius rocketed Nosipho to fame as countless people shared word of her outstanding work ethic. She was even paid a surprise visit by Minister of Home Affairs, Siyabonga Cwele who had presented her with a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers.

Last week she was officially acknowledged for her sterling work in the public sector at the prestigious Forbes Woman Africa Award inaugural gala dinner.

At this elegant evening of grace and glamour, a selection of the continent’s most influential women in business, sports, science, entertainment and leadership received recognition and Nosipho Mkhupheka was one of them.

“I would like to congratulate every award recipient – the work they are doing is impacting the lives of millions of young women worldwide, creating a space for them to, in turn, make their mark in a meaningful way,” said Methil Renuka, managing editor of Forbes Africa and Forbes Woman Africa.

Congratulations Nosipho, the South Coast community thanks you, and applauds you for your wonderful work ethic.
