The clubs plans to clean beaches, rivers and public spaces.
The Amavulandlela Ogu Scout Club recently celebrated ‘BP Sunday’ to commemorate the birth date of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the boy scout movement in 1908.

The club hosted a special service at the Port Shepstone Presbyterian Church, and Muzi Sibisi of the Amavulandlela Ogu Scout Club said the 38 scouts who attended the service were grateful to the congregation who opened their hearts to the club and celebrated the values of Lord Robert Baden-Powell.
“The children did not expect to be given a special party. So thank you to all at the Port Shepstone Presbyterian Church,” said Mr Sibisi.

As part of Amavulandlela’s sustainable development goals the club seeks to serve in the community they serve. It undertakes the cleaning of beaches, rivers and public spaces as Lord Robert Baden-Powell invested that “We should leave this place in a better condition when we found it”.
“We have to instill in our children the culture of conservancy and our natural heritage,” said Mr Sibisi.
The Amavulandlela club commits itself to be of service to the community and if any organisation would like the scouts to become involved in a clean-up they can contact Muzi Sibisi at 083 288 9000 or seyo02@gmail.com.
