Condolence messages have poured in on social media for Thanda Msomi.
A businessman, Thanda Msomi, was shot dead at his home in KwaMgwaba, Mtwalume near Mpisane sports ground in Ward 19 on May 18.
Saps Ugu District communications confirmed the incident and said a case of murder has been opened at Saps Hibberdene after a 53 year old man sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

“It is alleged that the victim was in his vehicle when an unknown person fired multiples times, fatally wounding him,” said police. The motive for the shooting is unknown as yet.
Condolence messages have poured in on social media for Msomi, who was described by many as a respectful person.
His brother Bongumusa Msomi said when the family got to the house, they could tell that he had died in his vehicle.
“We do not want to assume anything at the moment, we will leave everything in the hands of the law.
What we know is that his business has been doing well a short time after he acquired his legal documents to sell dagga. What is more hurtful is that his wife, Philile, died two weeks ago.”
He said the family feels lost and hurt because his brother did not have enemies or complained about anyone wanting to kill him.
Another family member, Sibongiseni Sithole clarified that Msomi’s wife was not shot, but was ill and had died in hospital.
Sithole described him as a respectful family man.
