Leisure Bay thanks its unsung heroes

Jayne Meyer is looking to make-up 12 hampers, and any surplus donations will be donated to charity

New resident to Leisure Bay, Jayne Meyer is arranging Easter hampers for the team who go the extra mile to keep the streets and stands litter and snare free in and around this leafy village.

Jayne, who arranged Christmas hampers for security guards in Cape Town last year, said their teamwork in blistering heat or heavy downpours ensures the pathways and vegetation of the village of Leisure Bay looks lovely all year round.

Jayne is looking to make-up 12 hampers, and any surplus donations will be donated to charity.

She said any donation big or small along the lines of a small packet of coffee and sugar or even crayons for children.

She is willing to collect, so please contact Jayne at 082 3818015.

Phillip Lennon and Vanessa Murray, who heads up Looking After Leisure Bay (LALB) are in full support of this wonderful initiative to thank these unsung heroes.

They call on the community to support this drive and join them at the lookout point, next to Peter Pan beach on Bexhill Street on April 17 at 1.30pm.

Come and meet the team, and enjoy a snack and refreshments.

Phillip explained that Leisure Bay’s eco-patrols, which are an LALB initiative, are done by the Cele brothers Aubrey and Eric. The brothers are sponsored by businesses in Leisure Bay and play an important role in the community as they track down illegal dump sites and snares.
