Bikers set off from Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground and rode to Rock Haven in Trafalgar, where there was plenty of entertainment and food on offer. Bikers, scooter riders and music lovers came out in their numbers to support this worthy cause.

Jan Morton, the president of Petra Fellowship, said all the blankets collected will be distributed to disadvantaged families on the South Coast. “Many street children and homeless people face cold nights during winter. Our bikers, together with the community have all rallied together to collect these much-needed blankets,” he said.

Mr Morten explained that the blanket drive has become a tradition within the local biking community and has since grown into a community initiative which has, at its heart, the well being of underprivileged people. “A warm blanket to snuggle under is a great source of comfort to a person during bitterly cold weather,” he said.
