Police stalwart retires

His next posting was to Margate, where served until he retired.

Warrant Officer Marcus Thembinkosi Nzimakwe of Margate SAPS has retired after 35 years’ service.

He began his policing career in KwaMashu, Durban in 1983.

W/O Nzimakwe went on to work at different stations in Durban and in Empangeni.

He spent time with the Richards Bay K9 Unit before moving to the South Coast in 1987 to take up a post at the Community Services Centre in Port Edward.

His next posting was to Margate, where served until he retired.

Margate SAPS spokesman Srgeant Sibu Ncane said W/O Nzimakwe had completed several skills development courses and career-aligned workshops which had equipped him for the duties he had to perform.

“W/O Nzimakwe loved his job and his contribution, both to Margate and to the service as a whole, will not be forgotten.

” He was an asset and a mentor to new police officers who learnt a lot from him,” said Sgt Ncane.

He added that W/O Nzimakwe was wished good health and happiness as he enjoyed his well-deserved retirement.
