Pupils make gruesome discovery in Albersville

The body was found on the centre median.

A gruesome discovery was made by pupils on their way to school this morning in the Albersville area. They found the body of a woman lying on the centre median on the N2 toll road below the Albersville bridge.

Pupils flagged down a motorist who contacted the police. According to police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge police found the body of a woman at around 7am.

“It is thought that she may have been the victim of a hit and run accident. Her body was removed for a post mortem examination to establish the cause of death. Port Shepstone Detective Service has opened a culpable homicide case for investigation,” said Captain Mpinge.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene police picked up a registration plate close to where the woman’s body was found.
