The domestic worker later discovered the same man inside the house.

A MAN posing as a job seeker robbed a house in Scottburgh on Wednesday last week.

According to Scottburgh police, a domestic worker was alone at the property when, at around 11am, she heard a man calling from the gate.

“When she went to investigate, he asked her for a job. When she said there was no work available, he left,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

Shortly afterwards, the domestic worker discovered the same man inside the house.

He assaulted her before telling her to wait in one of the bedrooms.

She complied, but once inside the bedroom, she locked the door.

When she could no longer hear the man searching the house, she emerged from the room and contacted a security company.

It was later established that a television and laptop had been stolen.

Detective Constable Weidon Govender is the investigating officer and anyone with information is urged to contact him at 039-9781900, or Crime Stop at 0860010111.
