Head-turners of note

Once a month a group of about 20-something Southbroom women meet for breakfast and a catch-up.

Sporting a fascinating fascinator at the Southbroom Breakfast Club’s Mad Hatter’s do is Genie Sargent-Longmore.

To welcome the new spring season the Southbroom Breakfast Club’s latest gathering held at Chef’s on Marine in Ramsgate, was a Mad Hatter’s theme. They sported some elegant creations from fancy fascinators to beautifully decorated sun hats.

And a new member Val Devenish was warmly welcomed by the breakfast bunch.

Fabulous festival

Be stirred by the unusual sounds of Spanish guitar and piano at an afternoon concert at Riverbend Crocodile Farm on Sunday, September 22.

The concert, featuring pianist Christopher Duigan and classical guitarist James Grace is part of the annual South Coast Spring Wine Festival.

The acclaimed musicians will play their arrangements of immortal melodies, jazz standards, Latin milonga and Spanish classics. Their session will include Fields of Gold, Tico Tico, Black Orpheus, Just The Way You Are and the theme from The Deer Hunter. Duigan’s composition, Indigo a favourite at any Duigan and Grace concert, will complete the programme.

Tickets are on sale at the Crocodile Farm reception.
