AN Amandawe woman was stabbed and raped during the early hours of last Saturday by a man she initially thought was a family member.
At around 2.15am the woman was awoken by a knock at the door.

When she asked who was there, the man gave a name familiar to her.
“She thought it was her cousin and opened the door,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.
She saw it was not her cousin, but before she could ask him to leave, he stabbed her repeatedly and then raped her.
She was later taken to hospital by members of the community.
