A VEHICLE hijacked at Amanzimtoti last Saturday was recovered later that day by Umkomaas Saps after a shoot-out with the suspects.

The vehicle was parked at a braai spot at Illovo Beach when four men ambushed the occupants, robbed them of their personal belongings and hijacked the vehicle.
“The men also stole the victims’ bank cards and demanded their pin codes which they later used to withdraw cash from the victims’ bank accounts,” said Saps KZN Media Centre spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane.
One of the suspects was injured in the exchange of gunfire and was arrested.
