The tyre is the most critical point of contact between the car and the road.
Need to replace your tyres? Here are seven good reasons you should buy the ‘real wheels’.
1. Be careful not to downgrade your brand to suit your budget. Use original tyre brands to give you the best and safest ride.
2. Many tyre brands are now being imported, be careful of false advertising.
3. Visit a reputable tyre dealer and speak to people who are trained to advise you on the right tyre.

4. Alarm bells should ring if there is no paperwork or packaging. When you buy a new set of tyres from a reputable dealer you should expect all information about warranties and ownership to come with the purchase.
5. Be sure to ask the question – ‘these tyres are real, right?’ If you don’t get a straightforward reply, it’s time to step away and buy elsewhere.
6. Shop smart and be on the look-out for pop-up shops or dodgy dealers who sell tyres in a car park at the edge of town. Reputable dealers are unlikely to sell fake tyres.
7. Buying from a reputable dealer means that if something goes wrong, you can go back to the store for help with the problem.
