Carnival lots of fabulous festivity
As part of tourism and heritage month Ray Nkonyeni Municipality presented the annual South Coast Carnival.
It was a good turnout for the South Coast Carnival Festival held at St Mike’s beach and the cultural village, Olili’s Lodge in Gamalakhe over the weekend.

As part of Tourism and Heritage Month, the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality presented the annual carnival, which is a three-day event of festivities, with a variety of stalls, games, sports, a talent search, music and a parade.
The South Coast Carnival Braai Festival at Olili’s Lodge featured award-winning South African band, Mi Casa and other local artists.

The Braai Festival brought together local shisanyamas, businesses and food enthusiasts who showcased their braai skills and meat cuisine preparations. Star chefs from Kasi Freshers Meal walked away with the title of ‘Best Shisanyama’.

Vicky Wentzel of Wozani Africa Events thanked Nomusa Mqwebu, the mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality for the warm welcome at Sunday’s carnival parade, event organiser Ntombi Mkhoma and all those who made the event a tremendous success.
