Mrs Berry said many women were suffering from ‘compassion fatigue’. Women, she said, were always trying to be everything to everyone.

“Self-care is hard work, and you need to learn to say no and not be a constant people pleaser. It is okay not to do everything yourself. Women lose themselves when they take on the roles of wife, mother, partner, friend – however, they need to find out what makes them happy too, they cannot and should not always put their own lives on hold. Also, women need to learn to understand that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Reserving ‘me’ time is of the utmost importance,” she said.

Rotary Ann president Joan D’Arcy said that the function had brought together the beautiful women of the South Coast to raise funds for community projects.
