The rains have arrived at last. A wonderful light rain has fallen almost continually since Saturday and the weather forecast looks very wet for the next week. Those who don’t have water tanks, make sure you put out every receptacle you own to catch the heaven-sent water.

Kind gesture
Lively young minds at Zizimelo Nombuso nursery school were inspired with dreams of becoming astronauts after a mural of the galaxy was created by gifted local artists Anita Dumas and Sean Winstanley. The two creatives from The Blank Canvas Artist’s Guild responded to principal Muriel Ngcungama’s appeal to beautify the school.

New paint on the jungle gym and window frames, as well as a cycle track for the children, are also new additions donated by a few generous community members. Local members of SAPS’ Crime Prevention Unit have undertaken to help educate the young ones about safety and security this term. For more information, contact Annelize Slabbert at 084 6717694.
Fond farewell
Estelle Carter of Trafalgar has relocated to Pretoria to live closer to her children. Estelle’s husband Mike died unexpectedly a few years ago. Both were very active members of Port Edward Bowling Club. A group of her friends arranged a farewell tea party at a local coffee shop last Friday.
They had a fun time and Estelle commented that she will take away very fond memories of her South Coast friends.
